Babyshambles konden nieuw album aan

Eind augustus verschijnt het labum "Sequel to the prequel".

‘Sequel To The Prequel’ is de opvolger van Shotter’s Nation uit 2007 en wordt voorafgegaan door de single Nothing Comes To Nothing die midden juli gelanceerd zal worden. Het 12 songs tellende album werd de voorbije maanden opgenomen in de Parijse studio Question Du Son en daarna afgemixt in The Bunker, Londen. Producer/mixer Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths) zet na Shotter’s Nation zijn samenwerking met Babyshambles verder en zit ook deze keer achter de knoppen. “Hooks & humour”, zo vat frontman Pete Doherty de lyrics samen, “ranging from the tender to the downright hilarious”. Het Britse muziekblad NME heeft al een voorbeluistering op zak en noemt ‘Sequel To The Prequel’ “their most accomplished and collaborative work to date”. Zanger Pete Doherty: “I don’t want this to be half arsed, I want to get up there and really fu*king smash it out. Babyshambles aren’t back, this band has always been here..... When I heard the final version of Nothing Comes To Nothing, it actually made me cry.”
