Tom Odell brengt nieuw album uit
Nog even wachten maar het album komt eraan!
De Britse singer-songrwiter en pianovirtuoos Tom Odell brengt op 10 juni zijn tweede album “Wrong Crowd” uit op Columbia Records. Het album, sinds vandaag beschikbaar als pre-order, is het vervolg op zijn debuut “ Long Way Down” uit 2013 met daarop de #1 single “Another Love”.
Het album werd geproduced door Jim Abbiss, bekend van zijn werk met oa Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Adele. De eerste officiële single uit dit nieuwe album volgt later deze maand.
Tom Odell: “I wanted the songs to sound big and dramatic; big strings and melodies emphasizing the songs further – rich in musicality and holding nothing back. The album follows a narrative of a man held at ransom by his childhood, yearning for it, yearning for nature- a desire for innocence in this perverse world in which he now lives. It’s a fictional story but the emotions and feelings are obviously ones I have felt – though the stories are elaborated and exaggerated. I wanted to create a world with a heightened sense of reality.”
In 2013 bracht Tom Odell zijn eerste album “Long Way down”uit, dat tot op heden wereldwijd meer dan 1 miljoen keer over de toonbank ging. Dat zelfde jaar was hij ook de winnaar van de “2013 BRIT Awards Critic’s Choice”. In 2014 won hij de prestigieuze “Ivor Novello Award” voor “Songwriter of the Year”.
